Pass or Bust?

Last week of comment commit!  Let’s support each other’s exercise efforts through one more week of 2010!

Thank you, thank you to participating in comment commit for the last two weeks, it has motivated me, inspired me, and made me accountable to keep up my workouts this holiday season.

Having said that, yikes, sorry for being MIA the last day and a half.   I was way too busy preparing for STORM 2010 to get on the computer.

Seriously, did C’ville just get passed by or was this whole storm thing a bust?  Either way, I am happy to be home.

I did make it out for my run on Christmas day and it was SO GOOD!  Tate and I went for an hour long trail run at my sister-in-law’s house.  She lives in Fredericksburg, Va, right in the heart of Civil War country.  We ran past the trenches and the battlefields.  I am not much of a history buff, and especially not regarding the Civil War, but the preservation of these places does create some nice green space amidst the strip mall jungle.

Here is my comment commit for today

  • strength train
  • walk
  • yoga

We are going to be working at the clinic all day so these activities may be short and thrown in whenever I find a moment.  We have lots of work to do before we open NEXT MONDAY!!!  My big job today is to buy reception room chairs and pick out paint.

What’s your workout plan today?  COMMENT COMMIT!

Reindeer Slobber

“Santa brought me a nerf gun!!!!!!!  It’s just what I’ve always wished for!!!!!!!!!!”  [insert sounds of glee and an image of 7:00 a.m. on the clock]

I grew up with a strong paternal Jewish family and Catholic maternal grandparents.  We celebrated Hanukkah and Christmas!  Since our Christmas tradition was to open presents on Christmas Eve we never “did” santa.

This year, Tate and I are spending Christmas at his sister’s and with our niece and nephew.  Finally, I got to see how this whole santa thing works!

Last night the kids made an extra special cookie for their extra special visitor plus some carrots for Rudolf.

The Elf (from the Shelf!) watched over the treats.

Late night, Santa needed a little help 😉

“He ate a leg!”  “And there’s Rudolf slobber on the tray!”

Now I am all coffee’d up and ready to run!  The plan today is a run, a quick Pilates workout, and maybe a little yoga.  And more coffee.  And a lot of playing with the Barbie Glamor Camper.  And maybe some nerf action. 🙂

Are you working out today?  Holiday workouts are some of my favorite, I think it’s because it feels like in the hubbub of it all I am treating myself to something good on so many levels.

I took a little inspiration from this quote yesterday,
“Much may be done in those little shreds and patches of time which every day produces, and which most [wo]men throw away.” – Charles Caleb Colton
and squeezed in about 75 push-ups throughout the day.  This may be how I do Pilates today, the hundreds here, a few double leg stretches there.
Have a wonderful day, whether you are celebrating Christmas or just the weekend!
