Lost + Found

I could tell it was going to be a good and gorgeous day even before I fully opened my eyes.  The sun has returned!  And with it, my motivation to RUN!

As an appetizer to lunch I had a yoga sandwich 🙂

My run-yoga-run was super delicious and filled with my best yoga class yet at AYC.  Tracy Wood led a challenging and fun noontime vinyasa filled with old favorites and new twists.  My balance was rock solid today and I felt oh-so-strong!  Love those days.  Running felt good too, although I winded fast on the hills.  Pre-yoga was 3 miles and post-yoga was 1.3.

I started getting hungry about mid-class so after a slow run home and a quick shower it was all about EATING!

Luckily I had a bunch of food made up so my plate was filled in about 55 seconds.

Leftover roasted butternut and delicata squash, roasted broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, and turnips, homemade sauerkraut, homemade hummus, and some avocado chunks.  Wow, it was very tasty but my eyes were bigger than my appetite and I ate about 3/4 of this (large) plate.

These little guys are popping up all over my yard!

I think they are a bit confused, I thought that crocuses bloom in the late winter/early spring?  Virginia must be extra special!  In any case, it’s awesome to have flowers busting through the fallen leaves.

I have never been into astrology but I happened to check my horoscope today in this weeks C-ville and it is SUPER relevant to my life right now.

It made me smile and remember that as life ebbs it will again eventually flow.

Time to get back outside in this beautiful day!  I am off to bike over to Kath’s for a walk.

Punch-line Problems

I just returned home from a job interview!  It was just what I needed to help me refocus on my goals and intentions for the coming year.  (this is a bit cryptic but I am still figuring some things out and when I do I will happily share with you!) The interview was fun, they started out by asking me to tell a joke.  Joke telling is one of my SERIOUSLY weak character traits and the only one I could think of was childish, a bit dirty, and probably inappropriate.  AND I flubbed the punch-line (like I always do when I try to tell a joke)!  Other than that I think it went decent.

Lunch and blogging are occurring simultaneously and is starting with leftovers from last nights simple yet tasty veg stirfry

Last night

With a side of edamame

Sadly, there were only a few bites left for my lunch.  Now I have to decide spaghetti squash or  butternut, tofu or eggs, broccoli or salad…feeling a bit indecisive today, can you tell?

I’ll figure it out over a second course of homemade kimchi

My first batch of kimchi is definitely a success! Just the right amount of salt and spice and loads of ginger.  Tate dug into it for the first time a few days ago and when he went back for a second serving I told him I was so glad he liked it.  His response?  “Are you really? Or were you hoping to have this for yourself?”  I exclaimed “no!  I am thrilled you like it, it’s easy to make and very healthy.  There is plenty to go around!” Husband approved! 🙂

I am procrastinating a trip to the DMV today, it’s time to get my car switched over to Virginia.  Ugh!  One of those wholly unrewarding errands.

Those 8.34 miles from yesterday are still lingering just a little in my quads but besides that, I feel good.  This morning I did a little weight, ab, cardio workout with Kathy Smith (exercise dvd) and hope to have to some sore triceps tomorrow.

Onto lunch course number three, scrambled eggs and leftover kale pesto a la yesterday.

Have a glorious Wednesday and please let me know whether you like the size of these pictures or if you think they are too large!
